The Quesnel Pipes & Drums celebrates its 59th anniversary in 2012. The band formed in 1953 with a few dedicated players and has grown in numbers and diversity over the years. The band is involved in many events in our community and surrounding areas, and we enjoy bringing Scottish music and traditions to the masses. Some of the events the band regularly participates in are: hosting Robbie Burns Night, Remembrance Day ceremonies, Relay for Life, Barkerville Dominion Day, Canada Day, and the Billy Barker Days parade. We are also known as "The World's Most Dangerous Pipe Band", but this is a persona that lives mostly in our minds rather than reality.
Practice: Thursdays, 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm at the Quesnel Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94 at
262 Kinchant Street, Quesnel, BC.
Tartan: Royal Stewart
The Royal Stewart Tartan is the best known tartan of the royal House of Stewart, and is also the personal tartan of Queen Elizabeth II. It is said to be appropriate for all subjects of Elizabeth II to wear the Royal Stewart tartan much in the same way that clansmen may wear the tartan of their clan chief.
We welcome new players anytime. If you are interested, please join us at our practices on Thursdays night.
